Karşıdan görünen hey dost ne güzel yayla

rough translation:

Up there, look friend, how beautiful is the summer place (yayla)
One moment, I couldn’t go on, by god, this way I go
My Pir with the colorful eyes, help me
From the Yayla, look friend, I go to the Shah

If you see me, look friend, I will be a garden
Black earth, if I’m above you
Look friend, To the tongue of the people, I will be a legend
From the Yayla, look friend, I go to the Shah

If they allowed it, look friend, the water had been taken
If they allowed it, look friend, prayers had been made
We who say shah, look friend, they kill
From the Yayla, look friend, I go to the Shah

I’m Pir Sultan Abdal, look friend, no one stays in this world
Life is gone. it doesn’t come back
My eyes don’t leave the road of the Shah
From the Yayla, look friend, I go to the Shah

This song is from a poem by Pir Sultan Abdal who was hung by the Ottoman's Hizar Pasha around 1550 for refusing to write a poem that didn't mention Shah Ismail (leader of Savafid dynsty in Iran). Pir Sultan Abdal is an important figure for the Alevi's, a symbol of resistance to authoritarianism.
